ExtrabiomesXL Mod 1.7.10 adds new biomes that enhance game play and make exploring fun and interesting. There are a lot of biomes in Minecraft, and a lot of mods that add more biomes. But ExtrabiomesXL is insane.

Biomes in Minecraft have their grass, foliage, water, and fog colors gradient based on the biome they currently reside in. The colors used are mapped from a shader. ExtraBiomesXL also pulls its biome colors from this shader. Below is a table which can help texture pack authors in manipulating these shaders when using ExtraBiomesXL.
The temperature percentage goes from bottom to top and the rain percentage goes from left to right. The temperature or rain values that are listed with the name of one of Minecraft’s vanilla biomes means the value is the same as the biome named.
List of Blocks:
Cattail
Naturally generates by bodies of water in the Green Swamp biome, can be placed in any biome, next to a water block, once harvested. Cattail’s will probably get some new uses in future updates. At the moment, they’re purely aesthetic.
Cracked Sand
The floor of the Wastelands. When exposed to sunlight, Cracked Sand can spread causing even healthy tilled soil or grass to dry out, first to bare dirt, then to sand, finally drying out to cracked sand. Nearby sandstone loses its etchings and then joins the process of decay as well. Cracked Sand can be hydrated with water on a crafting able to produce regular sand.
Custom Flowers
Custom flowers are actually a parent block containing many different child blocks using meta-data. These child blocks include (in order of damage value):
Custom Saplings
Just like the saplings in vanilla Minecraft, these are dropped from the proper corresponding decaying leaves of ExtrabiomesXL’s trees, and can be planted and grown using bonemeal. 2×2 trees require 4 saplings to be planted in the 2×2 pattern.
Quicksand
Quicksand generates as deep pits in Mini Jungles. Walk on a quicksand block, and you will slowly sink. Make sure to dig your way out (there’s no rising), or you will suffocate.
Red Rock
Red Rock is found exclusively in Mountain Ridge biomes. Mining this block drops Red cobblestone. Four of these blocks can be crafted into Red Rock Brick.
Red Cobblestone
Red Cobblestone is a red variant of the ubiquitous cobblestone. This block can be smelted to produce Red Rock. Soaking this block in three buckets of water yields four clay balls.
Red Rock Brick
Red Rock Brick is an aesthetic block that serves well as a decorative construction material. There are plans for valid uses for this block in the works.
